PSIG 47: Thursday August 2nd, 2001
Attendance: 11 Because I was running behind on various projects due to WWDC and MacHack, and because July's scheduled PSIG meeting was the day after Independence Day, I decided to cancel July's PSIG meeting and move it to August. Demand must have pent-up, because there was rather good attendance. I'm really happy how book reports are going, most every book folks are talking about are ones I haven't read. Lots of interesting reads... I talked about Apple's Enterprise Objects Framework (EOF), the foundation of WebObjects. EOF is perhaps the most advanced technology for storing objects to and restoring objects from a database. And with WebObjects 5, EOF is now written in Pure Java, available everywhere Java is.
