PSIG 35: Thursday July 6th, 2000
Attendance: 7 Since this was the first PSIG since MacHack 2000, we reminisced for those unable to make it. Carl Jester was in rare form, and had a litany of puns for us to moan at. I demonstrated Valentina, a fast, inexpensive and AppleScriptable relational database for the Mac. Like FileMaker Pro, Valentina allows you to insert and delete information from a database using AppleScript. Unlike FileMaker Pro, Valentina also allows you to create and modify tables at with AppleScript. Valentina also supports the SQL SELECT statement. Darrin Cardini showed off his Vertigo hack from MacHack, as well as some useful QuickTime plugins for various effects including Chroma Key Filtering and Blue Screen removal. Thursday, July 06, 2000
