WWDC 2005 Notes
• The wireless network was flakey again. But this year I came prepared, with my Treo 650 configured to receive and send email. I vaguely recall there was a time when I didn't have this ability to roundtrip email from my PDA. I deem those years "the dark ages". • I noticed a lot of Treos. Unsure if it's a general trend or just my reticular cortex distorting my reality (yet again). • Lots of PyObjC buzz. One session devoted to it, and two O'Reilly brown bag sessions talking about it. • Attendance was supposedly up again this year. I know this year was the first year I started to think what would happen if the conference grew too popular. • Buzz throws quite a bash. I overpaid him initially, and threw more money at him when I got there. You should give him money too so he does it again next year. • At the beer bash, folks remembered I wore my ADHOC lab coat last year. Amazing. I didn't even remember that. • Though I may have coined "Mac OS X86", I confess I've been using "Macintel". It just rolls off the tongue. I hope the "Mactel" label dies off -- it's too phone-company for my tastes. Saturday, June 18, 2005
