C4 Hotels: Plan 'L'

C4

Folks are noticing there’s a lack of reasonably-priced hotel space for C4.

Turns out the Chicago Marathon is going on that weekend, and runners ironically don’t want to have to walk too far to get to their race. Thus all sub-$400/night downtown hotel space is already booked up.

Fortunately there’s still reasonable hotel space available near O’Hare airport (right by the Rosemont convention center). It’s only 15 miles away, and the L’s (“Elevated”) Blue Line runs between it and downtown, giving easy access to the suburban hotel cache.

I drove out to Rosemont tonight and did a little hotel recon, and came up with the seven hotels linked below. All are in walking distance from the Rosemont L station. And as of tonight, all have available rooms.

Granted, it’s kind of a drag to have to take the L in and out to the University Center. I’ll ease the pain somewhat by buying your ticket. Just toss me an email letting me know that’s what you’re doing.

On the bright side, I think a goodly number of us will be taking the L (including me), so you can talk geek with us all the while hurtling towards your bed. Multitasking, man.
