C4[1] Hotel Booking Glitch
I got word from Paul and Mike today that the website used for booking your C4[1] hotel reservation is acting like the hotel is sold out. Such is not the case. I called the hotel guys and they said they’re having technical difficulties which they expect to resolve tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. Paul’s my guinea pig on this — he’ll let me know when it’s working again. When that happens, I’ll update this entry to let you all know when the coast is clear. Update May 24: The hotel’s site seems to be working again. Just remember to bump the “Check In Date” to 8/10/2007. Book away! Update May 26: If you want to check-in a day or two before C4 starts (or check-out a day or two after it ends), toss me an email. The hotel’s website is supposed to allow that, but currently doesn’t (it pretends like its sold-out). I’m sorting it out and need to know who I should keep apprised. Update May 31: The hotel guys have added inventory on the shoulder nights (lookie me, all down with the hotel vernacular). Now you should be able to reserve a check-in as early a Wed Aug 8th and check-out on Monday Aug 13th. The extends the special room rate from two nights to five nights. The shoulder goes away June 8th so act soon. If you’ve already placed a reservation and now want to extend it out, please call the hotel guys. If that doesn’t work let me know and I’ll go in on your behalf. A good reason to come in early is Jeff Czerniak’s C4[1] Detonator which is sort of a C4[1] pre-party. Chill with fellow Mac geeks soaking up the Chicago scene. Something tells me I’ll be in the weeds those two days before C4[1], but I’m going to try to make it. Tuesday, May 22, 2007
