AdHoc Site Criticism

Adhoc
Eric Albert and Alexei Kosut complain about the AdHoc website.

I share some of the blame: while I don't run the site, it was my idea to add a blog. I thought (and still think) it is a good way to keep folks abreast on conference news and to expose some of the conference's rich history (hence Friday Flashbacks). I know most of my inputs now come via RSS, surpassing even email at this point.

After the blog went live, we had some scope creep. The site is a mishmash of different volunteers contributing different content. It was thought that we could repurpose the blog to allow those individuals add+edit their own content, perhaps helping with timeliness and relieving the bottleneck going through the busy webmaster for every small change.

I can see how this can lead to a confusing site that's missing chunks of critical information. I really appreciate you guys writing up your problems -- feedback is enormously helpful.
